Lucia Pedroza-Estrada (She/Her/Ella) is the Director of Culture + Sustainability at Inclusive Communities, where she is passionate about creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace. Originally from Guatemala, Lucia has made Omaha her home for many years, where she balances her professional life with her role as a dedicated mother to her two children, Andre and Santiago, and their beloved dog, Hiro.
With a career that began in meatpacking plants, Lucia’s journey took a transformative turn when she pursued higher education at Metropolitan Community College and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, focusing on sociology. Since 2013, she has been actively involved in advocacy, transitioning to the nonprofit sector in 2014. After taking a break in 2020 to collaborate with local leaders, she served as the Advocacy and Grantmaking Director at Elevate Omaha from 2021 to 2024.
Lucia’s commitment to community service extends beyond her role at Inclusive Communities. She is on the board of directors for the Women’s Fund of Omaha, Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, and Nebraska Appleseed Action Fund, and serves on the University of Nebraska President’s Advisory Council.
In her free time, Lucia enjoys exercising, reading, cooking, and going on adventures with her kids. One of her favorite family activities is playing UNO, often accompanied by good music. With a deep commitment to social justice, Lucia continues to inspire those around her through her dedication to fostering positive change.
